United started the game with three Trialists in their line-up, together with the transfer listed Paul Connolly and Ramon Nunez. Despite playing into a strong wind United went to the half time break with a two goal lead, with both goals coming from two of the Trialists. Bradford pulled a goal back in the second half but ten minutes later a third Trialist scored the Leeds third goal, from a quick Leeds counter attack. Leeds made several substitutions during the game when Eoghan Stokes replaced Paul Connolly, Simon Lenighan came on for Charlie Taylor, Charlie Clamp took over from a Trialist, Lewis Walters replaced a Trialist, Nathan Turner came on for Ramon Nunez and a Trialist was replaced by the fourth Trialist.
